With the weather being so temperamental at the moment, I am doing all I can to make things feel a bit more Spring like. There’s nothing that changes my mood more than a new lipstick so when I spotted this gorgeous Spring coral shade in World Duty Free, I knew that it was just what I needed to perk up my mood. The YSL Rouge Volupte Shine 30 Coral Ingenious is all sorts of beautiful and I’m almost certain that I wanted to buy this a while ago, yet I have a memory of my Momma telling me that I have too many lipsticks. I’m sure she must have been ill that day, isn’t that right Mom?!
From previous posts of mine, you’ll know how I favour the lipsticks from YSL for their sheer beauty and luxe feel. At the last count, I have seven of the YSL Rouge Voluptes and rave about their creamy formula, that applies sheerly but builds up to a more opaque coverage. The mango scented lipstick is refreshing and deliciously more-ish which leads to the temptation of wanting to eat it, which obviously is not good for you. They keep lips hydrated, and for a formula that has such a glossy finish, you would think that longevity would be poor – in fact, it’s quite the opposite. Leaving a slight stain to the lips, the colour stays put for quite some time until it wears off evenly. I do always mention this, but I do find a good buffing of my lips is needed as it does have a tendency to cling to dry patches, but then again, I do have awfully dry lips from years of flying.
YSL Rouge Volupte Shine 30 Coral Ingenious is the most beautiful coral that veers on the pale peachy orange side of the spectrum. Its such a natural peachy pink that you could be forgiven if you mistook the shade for being a natural lip colour with a glossy finish. At first swatch, I did worry that it would be too pale for my natural lip colour, yet it worked with with my natural tones. What I love about this shade is that its just so not my usual kind of colour. I’m stuck in that matte nude or bright pink colour way at the moment and I need to pull myself of the rut and start experimenting with different shades again, so it’s working for me right now.
Although I bought my YSL Rouge Volupte Shine 30 Coral Ingenious in World Duty Free, the shade is still readily available at YSL counters and online for £26.
