Rose Gold. I am an absolute sucker for it. In fact, I can’t get enough of it. I just want rose gold everything. Browsing Beauty Bay, my new go-to website for all things fabulous in beauty, I went straight over to the Zoeva section. Forever lusting after a set of the Zoeva brushes, and constantly checking for new palettes to be added, I spotted this gorgeous little palette. I’d been good this week, so I thought it was only fair that I treated myself, and it was only £13. Welcome home Zoeva Rose Golden Blush Palette, I’m sure you’ll love it here.
The Zoeva Rose Golden Blush Palette houses three powders, a contour powder, a highlight and a blusher within the slim cardboard palette. The palette itself is quite sturdy, yet small enough to slip in your bag for travelling. The powders inside are a great size, and larger than I expected from viewing on the website. The great point about the size is that you can use your usual brushes for contouring, highlighting and blusher on the powders. On first impressions, I wasn’t sure of the shades, and as beautiful as they are in the palette, there may have been some issues with the shades showing up on my skin, or being too chalky on my skin tone.
Heavy Crown is a muted, medium brown matte shade that I have seen described as a bronzer on several blog posts. Its actually more of a contour powder, which works well on my skin yet if it was a bronzer then it wouldn’t show up. You can see from the swatch that it just about shows when blended out and its very sheer on the swatches on my fingertips. I had some difficulty picking up the product on my brush and it took me a few attempts to get it right on my skin. It’s definitely not my favourite out of the three, however it can be forgiven because the other two powders fare so much better.
Glowing Still is a bright white highlighter powder that when swatched on the fingertip looks frightening. Once it has been blended out however, it leaves the most beautiful creamy gold finish. A small amount is needed and unlike Heavy Crown, the product is picked up easily and blends out really well. It doesn’t sit in pores nor look chalky on my medium tan skin tone. It is quite intense when you first look at it, but it wears well and leaves the skin with a glowy sheen. I adore this highlighter and it’s unlike any shade that I own.
The shade that has caught my attention the most is Palace Door, the most incredible frosted pinky peach blusher. It reminds me a lot of Benefit CORALista, but a touch lighter and I would use this is the same way as CORALista, as a highlighting blusher. I’ve been wearing Palace Door over a touch of bronzer for a light sheen with a subtle rose gold kiss on the cheeks and it’s so gorgeous. It’s definitely my favourite shade from the palette, without a doubt.
The Zoeva Rose Golden Blush Palette isn’t available on Beauty Bay right now, but you can purchase it from the Zoeva website. Have you succumbed to any Zoeva goodies? What shall I get next?
