There’s something so moreish about Christmas sets, and I really do have to set myself a limit on what I buy each year. I’ve actually been really good lately and I haven’t splurged on much. I nearly spent all my money on the Mariah Carey for MAC collection but by the time I put it in my basket, it was sold out. I did manage to get hold of the My Mimi highlighting powder, but more on that at a later time. One of the prettiest Christmas sets that I have come across comes from Ciaté London, and I’m so glad that I have this as not only is it the first time that I have tried the makeup, but I have also found a shade of liquid lipstick that is going to be my one true love. The Ciaté Chloe Morello Beauty Haul is every beauty lovers dream.
Chloe Morello, for those of you haven’t heard of her is a beauty YouTuber from Australia with over 2 million subscribers. Sassy and fun, this girl knows how to create some inspiring eye make up looks so I’m not surprised that a collaboration featuring a lot of shadows was on the cards. The Ciaté Chloe Morello Beauty Haul is a selection of her beauty must haves and everyday heroes; a 15 pan palette, a liquid velvet lipstick and a mascara wrapped up a chic and on trend rose gold and navy cosmetics bag.
The Pretty, Fun and Fearless palette is made up of some of Ciatés best selling shades and shades selected by Chloe herself in a range of matte and shimmer with colours from across the spectrum. The shade range is very me; neutrals with golden bronze shimmers, purple shades and even a navy blue metallic for a smokey eye look. As I’ve never tried Ciaté eyeshadow shades, I didn’t actually know what to expect from them at all, but when I first swatched them, I couldn’t get over how soft they were. I actually thought that they were too soft and may crumble when taken on my travels, but so far so good. Buttery soft, easy to work with and easy to blend, they are some of the best shadows I’ve worked with in terms of ease of use whilst pigmentation is very good. The colours swatched are the colours that pick up on the brush, and the shades work well both wet and dry. I have a bit of an addiction with using metallic shadows wet at the moment, so it’s satisfied my need with great content.
I’ve seen the images of the Ciaté Wonderwand mascara doing the rounds on social media recently so to see a mini version in the beauty haul is great news. I do like to try a sample of a high end mascara before purchasing, as I have been left out of pocket with some that really didn’t do what they promised. The Ciaté Wonderwand mascara has a traditional fibre brush applicator with a curved shaped wand. With the blurb promising a 3D volume, curl and length, I had high hopes. I usually use a comb mascara wand so my application skills with a brush wand are a bit naff to say the least but I managed to get the mascara on my lashes and not all over my lid. It’s a super carbon black for the darkest of lashes and I find its better to use when the lid has been left off and for it to dry out slightly instead of it being really wet. It’s easy to work with and pulling it through the lashes for extreme length is apparent. Having quite curled natural lashes, I can’t see a further curl but the finished look is definitely that of a false lash effect.
Another matte liquid lipstick has been sneaked into my collection with the Ciaté Liquid Velvet Matte in Pin Up. Ok, so I have a lot of liquid lipsticks in my collection and I have worked out which are the best brands to choose from and I tend to stick with the same few brands as I know that they can be trusted with longevity, formulation and stunning colours. Again, having never tried the Ciaté ones, I am now hooked. Pin Up is the most beautiful shade for day to day wear. It reminds me a little of Anastasia Beverly Hills Kathryn, in that its a deep berry brown shade, but I was so impressed with the formulation. It feels bouncy on the lips, which I believe is due to the hyaluronic acid formulation, whilst the shade itself lasted for an age. I didn’t feel like it dried out whatsoever and although a matte finish, it felt like I had a cream lip colour on. The shade is definitely the one for me, so I’m going to need the full size.
The pretty navy and rose gold cosmetic pouch finishes off the beauty haul with style. The case fits everything inside including the sizeable eyeshadow palette and it’s already been slipped into my handbag to hold my handbag essentials. The Ciaté Chloe Morello Beauty Haul is a limited edition set and once it’s gone, its gone. So far, I can only see stock left on Ciaté London, and at £45 its a bit of steal. Whether it be for yourself or a last minute christmas gift, I’d be over the moon to receive such a beautiful set.
