Christophe Robin Rose Haircare

All of a sudden my hair seems to have had a spurt of growth that I totally wasn’t prepared for. Granted, I have been using Grow Gorgeous hair care which I am almost at the end of my three month trial, but I just seem to have flowing Rapunzel-esque locks. Well, maybe not that far but not far off. I have fine hair, but there is a lot of it which is quite handy as it does tend to shed a lot. I do find that as I grow my hair my longer, I do lose volume from the root and that is one area that I need to concentrate on, as flat hair is not my bag. Luckily, my obsession with spending all my time in Space NK has lead me to discovering hair care brand Christophe Robin, a premium brand that uses natural ingredients and remedies to create each product.

It’s only as recent as 2011 that the Christophe Robin Rose range was created. With the repairing, soothing and antioxidant properties of the rose in mind, the volumising range was created without alcohol or volumising ingredients. Instead, Rose hip, Centifolia rose and Gallic rose have been used for their benefits within the hair care and I have been seeing great results in such a short time from using them.

I was confused at first to what the Christophe Robin Cleansing Volumising Paste was. It looks like chocolate Ready Brek in the pot and I did think it was an additional step when washing my hair. When I actually looked at it properly, it’s a shampoo. The consistency really does throw you into a sense of thinking it’s a hair mask or something similar, and it does take some time to get used to how it works. I have been using the paste just once a week, and usually it’s my Sunday evening hair wash product. I like to start the week with a full bouncy head of hair. A tablespoon size blob of the paste is rubbed into your palms before taking it to the head, ensuring that the hair is lifted to allow the product to get to the root. Once water is added, the paste emulsifies into a foaming lather which does take some time to rinse out properly.

What I have noticed from just a few weeks of weekly use, is that my hair feels so much stronger and healthier with a definite change in the root. I have noticed a lot less breakages, and my hair seems a lot easier to manage after washing. The scent of the rose paste is to die for, and the level of control seems to be a lot more intense. You can really get into your scalp with the paste, plus it doesn’t leave my hair with that horrible squeaky feeling which to mean shouts dryness and damage.

I follow the shampoo with a generic conditioner, but just before I blow dry my hair, I spritz over the Christophe Robin Instant Volumising Mist with Rose Extract. It’s a great styling product as you can use it on wet and dry hair. When using it on wet hair, I like to direct it towards the roots for added volume and then brush through so the hair is coated. When dried, the hairdryer gives it a massive boost and my hair looks huge. My style holds, the volume stays put and my hair feels amazing. The mist is made of 96% rosewater which gives natural hold and whilst using it on dry hair can give a little stickiness, it does work to hold your style in place.

I have been ever so impressed with Christophe Robin and the more I look at the range, the more products I am spotting that I feel would do the world of good to my hair. I have seen a baby blonde mask that will take the brassiness from my hair so that has gone straight to the top of my list.
