Continuing with the ‘best of’ theme, I bring to you today one of the prettiest collections that I have seen from Suqqu. I have been a fan of Suqqu for quite some time, and I have spent quite a lot on the skincare side of the brand. When it comes to the makeup side, it’s a little out of my comfort zone. The focus on natural beauty and enhancing your features is wonderful, but my day time look is sometimes a bit Bianca Del Rio. Now that I wear a lot less makeup for work, I have found that there is a little bit of natural beauty there – I’ve even started to wear a sheer foundation. Who even am I?! Back to the beautiful Christmas collection from Suqqu, the ‘ In The Cold Urban Night’ collection is a capsule set featuring stunning eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks and a blush.
The palette that I have caught my eye immediately with its beautiful champagne shimmer shadow and vibrant coral. The Hikarisango 113 palette also holds a deep burgundy and a soft brick brown shade to contrast, deepen and define the eye. The softest, buttery eyeshadows, that have a smooth application without losing the vibrancy from the pan. Easy to blend and wok with, I didn’t need to place too much effort on my brush to work the shades on my eye and to blend out. Nine hours of wear and my shadows were still intact with the vibrant coral showing no sign of wear and fading. I also must pay homage to the gorgeous gold and white sparkling compact that my shadows are housed in. It’s simply stunning. There are three palettes in the collection and I also have my eye on Iwaiakari palette with the vivid bright pink shade.
There are three Extra Glow lipsticks in the collection, and I have Benisugri; a deep raspberry pink that can be applied as a delicate just bitten stain or as a full, plumped up colour. I do think that the tones in this shade will suit a range of skin tones and it certainly is a winter shade for me. I don’t think that I could go through the winter season without a berry shade of lipstick. For a sheerer lip colour, It does have good longevity, and I wore it for around 3 hours with staining on my lips.
To complete my looks, I have added in the Suqqu Gel Eyeliner Pen in Navy, which is so a gorgeous alternative to a black liner. Still as smokey as a black but without the harshness, I’ve never really thought about how a slightly different colour could make such a huge difference to my eye makeup look. The Suqqu Lip Precision Liner in Pink Beige has become a much loved item in my makeup bag. First of all, I love how you buy the holder separately, and fill it with a lip liner refill, that can be changed once the liner has been used up. I also love the subtlety of this shade. It’s such a natural pink that works well with my natural lip colour, so I can overline my lips slightly to make them look a lot fuller.
I think I have found a new daily go to palette that I can create some really cohesive looks with, and you can find the full collection in Selfridges, although you will have to pop in store! This post may contain PR samples that have been sent to me for consideration for review however all my opinions will be my own.
