Valentines Day, or as it’s known in my house – Hallmark Card Day. A week long event in which I have to see declarations of love all over Facebook, the hashtag #boydidgood and a news feed full of rose gold watches. All said in jest of course! Now, as a single gal and one who not only takes advantage of Valentines Day as an opportunity to buy the person I love the most (me) a lovely present, I would like to share with you my guide of the best ways to pamper yourself, smell delicious and look fabulous for that night out with the girls. 14th February falls on a Saturday, so armed with my closest gal pals, dressed up to the nines and wearing my best couture, I will be heading to my favourite bars in Manchester. A fail safe addition to my look is a natural glossy pout so today I will be telling you about those three items that you need to create the Charlotte Tilbury Perfect Nude Lip.
If you have noticed my bio on my blog, I have mentioned that I am forever in search of the perfect nude lip. I have quite dark lips naturally so those beautiful beige nudes that I would love to wear are just a distant dream. Even if I cover my natural lip colour with concealer, it still starts sneaking through on the inner corners of my lips, reminding me that I am just too red lipped for nude. Last November I had a press conference with the gorgeous Charlotte Tilbury and she mentioned that she used Confession lipstick on Naomi Campbell. Well, if Naomi Campell can wear this nude on her beautiful deep coloured lips, then it would definitely work for me. And it did. So, thank you Char! It’s a definite game changer.
Now a good lip colour starts with a good lip liner and I couldn’t write a post on Charlotte Tilbury lips without mentioning the infamous Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk. Pillow Talk is the most natural coloured lip liner that I own. It is so close to my natural lip colour that I can re-shape and re-size my lips to the desired effect without it looking at all unnatural. When I fill in my lips with any of the Lip Cheat liners, my lipstick clings and locks to my lips for several hours with no feathering or smudging.
The Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipsticks are some of the best lipsticks I have ever tried. The secret ingredient taken from the Lipstick Tree is an anti-oxident that protects from UV damage whilst leaving lips super soft. Confession is a limited edition colour to tie in with the limited edition The Supermodel look, and once it has gone, it has gone. Luckily it is still in stock on the Charlotte Tilbury website. Confession is a beautiful dusky, tawny nude packed with light reflecting gold particles that make your pout look fuller and plumper. It really is a colour that would suit every skin tone. Although I am still getting used to wearing nudes, as no colour ever suited me before, this is my go to colour and I am finding that I am wearing this more than my brights.
For that lovely glossy shine, the Charlotte Tilbury Perfect Nude Lips look isn’t complete without using the Lip Lustre Lux lip lacquer in Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, also known as Lucy or LSD. Again, this is another limited edition colour and is now only available at Selfridges and Net A Porter. Designed specifically to be worn with Confession and Pillow Talk, LSD is a rose tinted champagne coloured gloss with gold flecks. I do love a gloss, particularly one that isn’t sticky and stays on longer than ten minutes. I love the effect it leaves and how the gold flecks reflect the light rather than looking like you have glitter all over your mouth.
I’m so pleased that I’ve found my perfect nude after all this time and I love how it looks paired with a gorgeous smoky eye. I’m planning on buying my next picks for a Charlotte Tilbury Perfect Nude Lips look, and that is the Lip Cheat in Pink Venus, Lipstick in B*tch Perfect and Lip Gloss in Sweet Stiletto. Have you tried any of the Charlotte Tilbury lip looks? Which one is your favourite?
