Day Five takes us to a luxury brand that produces some of the most beautiful colour palettes that are known to man. The Chanel counter certainly makes my heart beat that little bit faster although I am a little bit choosier with my purchases, and I prefer to buy make up that looks good in my make up bag rather than for its purpose. Naughty me. Although who can’t say that they don’t enjoy pulling a Chanel gloss from their bag and applying it whilst looking in a Chanel compact 😉
Armed with birthday money, I decided that out of all the Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer colours, Jalousie was the most beautiful colour I’d ever seen. Did you know Jalousie means Jealousy in French? Certainly fits the part, oui?
Jalousie can only be described as a hot rasperry pink with red undertones, with a pearlescent shimmer. There are no glitter or sparkle particles within the gloss but there is beautiful shimmer to it. The gloss itself is the perfect medium; not too thick or too thin in consistency, yet is opaque on the lips. When worn alone, the colour is just incredible and there is nothing like a super shiny lip. I prefer to wear it alone rather than over a lipstick as it is thick enough to not look like you are just wearing a gloss. Stickiness isn’t an issue, and my hair remained gloss free throughout the course of the day.
Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer in Jalousie is quite steep at £21 but so so worth it. I bought mine from Selfridges.
