Oh Caudalie, how I wish that I had started using your products a long time ago. Why has it taken me so long to find out just how wonderful your plant based products are for my skin? Caudalie have been going for quite some years, yet it’s probably only in the time that I’ve been blogging that I was made aware of it. My personal Caudalie journey started off with the Caudalie PolyPhenol C15 Overnight Detox Oil, which I absolutely loved. So much so, that it sent my Clarins facial oil to the back of the pile. The PolyPhenols in the products are found in the grape seeds on the founders vineyard at their family estate. Using an extracting technique to get the best from the grape seeds as well as the sap from the vine, they have developed a range of products that actually work on the skin using maximum ingredients that are sustainable and that respect the environment. With the PolyPhenol C15 range being discontinued to make way for the new Caudalie VineActiv collection, I was really looking forward to trying a wider range of products with a formulation that has developed from an already winning one.
Exchanging my precious PolyPhenol C15 Overnight Detox Oil for the new Caudalie VineActiv Overnight Detox Oil, I wasn’t expecting to see much of a change in things on my skin as I have been using one version of it for a good few months. It still smells incredible, very spa-like as well as being extremely relaxing, making it perfect for using overnight. I do think that I’m finding more and more products that have an aromatherapy style smell recently as they are helping me to sleep. I’m still seeing great results from the facial oil; my skin looks fresh and more alive, it feels a lot smoother and I feel that my skin is generally in a great condition. It’s definitely one of the best facial oils that I have used, and the fact that this is solely an overnight oil, I’m pleased I get chance to use other products in a morning or as an added extra. I do actually find that this oil is enough for my skin for an evening without having to load my face with further serums and moisturisers.
The Caudalie Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum has been frequently used for my morning serum. It’s one of the lightest serums that I own, that feels like water when I apply it to the skin. It’s ideal for daytime use as it’s benefits are to protect the skin against pollution and stress. It’s also designed to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, whilst giving the skin a boost of hydration and leaving a fresh glow. I’ve found it ideal to wear underneath makeup, and even when layered with a light moisturiser, it still doesn’t feel like I’ve laden my face down with too many products. A truly beautiful addition to my skincare routine.
I say this all the time, but I have been useless at remembering to use an eye cream unless it’s right in front of me. That’s why I’ve been leaving my current choice out in full view on the bedside table. The Caudalie Energizing and Smoothing Eye Cream can also be used on lip contour so it’s actually quite handy to have to hand. It sinks into skin with ease, doesn’t leave a greasy residue and awakens the skin. It’s great for early mornings and banishing the dark circles.
The last product in the Caudalie VineActiv range is the 3 in 1 Moisturiser. It’s one of those lovely moisturisers that feels so heavenly when you put it on your face. I do believe that it leaves a veil of protection across your face to block the girt and grimes particles from the pollution in the air from penetrating your skin. It also has the glow activating ingredients like the rest of the range to keep you looking fresh and healthy.
I use a lot of skincare, and I do get very fickle with products but for products to stick around means that they are doing the job and are making my skin behave in the way I want it to behave. I am totally obsessed with facial oils, they’ve been amazing in helping to balance out my skin and the fact that I’ve been using the Caudalie Overnight Detox Oil for coming up to a year now and no signs of changing it, does mean to me that I have something special in my possession.
