For the last two years, on the run up to December, I have been incredibly lucky to have been invited to meet my Queen, Charlotte Tilbury. The purpose of the meet up is to of course talk about all things beauty and the newest products in the Tilbury line, including permanent items and Christmas treats. This year has seen the launch of the Magic Foundation, which is incredible, as well as the new Mini Miracle Eye Wand. Christmas is my favourite time of year and like I have mentioned in my previous posts, it’s mainly down to those limited edition, Christmas specials. This year is no different and Charlotte Tilbury has not only created a selection of treats, trinkets and treasures that need to be on the Christmas list, but there are some new products that have been introduced that I am absolutely swooning over.
Our meeting with Charlotte took place at Selfridges at The Trafford Centre where we had a two hour private appointment with her. Our make up brunch consisted of playing with the new products, whilst drinking tea and eating Charlotte Tilbury lipstick shaped cookies. Charlotte ran through the entire make up menu, starting with the treasures, leading onto the treats and finishing on the trinkets that were available to buy. The concept of the Tilbury Christmas gifts is still the same as the main line and it to take the fuss out of buying make up for others. Gorgeous skin care sets in gift boxes to look like mini suitcases, smoky eye kits and pencils that can simply be matched to the eye colour of the gifts recipient, lipstick wardrobes and looks in a box. If anyone would like to buy me a present, I wouldn’t say no to the Matte Revolution Lipstick Wardrobe nor the Nocturnal Cat Eyes to Mesmerise in The Huntress.
Two of the Charlotte Tilbury Treats and Trinkets for this year come in the form of the Charlotte Tilbury Mini Lipstick Charm Set and the Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold Highlighter. Unfortunately, the Bar of Gold Highlighter sold out as fast as it came in stock and there are no talks of bringing it back into the permanent line. I missed out on the Bar of Gold when it first got released with the launch of the Charlotte Tilbury range back in 2012 so I’m more than happy to finally own one. Compared to the rest of the Tilbury range, the packaging isn’t quite up to standard however for a metallic cardboard box, it does look very pretty. I’d be concerned about popping it in my bag and damaging it so it’s going to stay at home. Champagne gold and very finely milled, it gilds the skin with a gorgeous glow. It is slightly golder than the highlighter in the Filmstar Bronze and Glow but for a very close runner up, it would work.
The Mini Lipstick charms were on my list last Christmas so I’m so glad to see them come back so I could have a chance to get them. With three mini lipsticks in Bitch Perfect, So Marilyn and Penelope Pink, I really don’t want to use these as they are so cute, but I think they’re a great way to try out the lipstick shades before you buy them in their full size form. I’ve been wearing Bitch Perfect for a few months now and it is one of my number one nude lip shades. I’m also loving the pinker toned Penelope Pink and this is the colour that Charlotte wears the most. One both occasions that I have met her, she has been wearing Penelope Pink, so if it’s good enough for Char, then it’s good enough for me. I have also never tried So Marilyn before so it’s great that I’ve finally had the chance. I love a red lipstick and So Marilyn is a beautiful deep red, perfect for Christmas.
The full range of Christmas products, except the Bar of Gold, are available from Selfridges, Net a Porter and the Charlotte Tilbury website.
