Right Christmas shopping, lets get you well and truly finished off! Luckily, I’m almost done in my quest to find the perfect presents for my family and friends, and of course I’ve picked up a treat or two for myself along the way – Hello new lipstick! The final part of present buying is bulking out gifts with some cute little stocking fillers, having an extra secret santa gift to hand because something always gets sprung on you last minute and those little luxury beauty gifts that you just can’t resist. Here are my top picks for luxury gifts and purse friendly presents this Christmas.
Every adult these days has fallen onto the adult colouring book bandwagon, me included. There’s nothing more therapeutic that sitting in peace for an hour and colouring your cares away. I love this Hipster Colouring Book, £8.99 from ASOS and the tongue in cheek styled book leads through the day to day life of a hipster, right from their hairstyles to chilling in a coffee shop. It’s a great gift for those who haven’t yet started their colouring journey.
Everyone loves a good selfie, but what if I told you that I’d found a way to take one, on your phone without having to angle your arms in the right place? The SelfieMe Remote Photo Shooter from IWOOT, £9,99 is a compact remote control in the shape of a camera, that links to the bluetooth on your phone for easy peasy self styled shots. It also comes with a stand to prop your phone up for better close ups of your face. It’s a winner for me.
I’ve always been a fan of the hair sets that launch at Christmas and I’ve picked two sets that will make brilliant gifts. A great stocking filler for only £6 is the John and Me Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery gift set from Superdrug. I’ve been a huge fan of the Miraculous Recovery hair care for such a long time now and as a frequent traveller to humid climes, I find that the Miraculous Recovery leaves my hair feeling soft and silky and smoothed down. Although I haven’t got dry or damaged hair, which it is intended for, it has been a god send when I’m in hard water areas and tropical destinations where fuzzy hair is no longer an issue.
Label.M was a new brand for me earlier this year and it’s a brand that was mentioned an awful lot over London Fashion Week. A brainchild from the Toni & Guy team, Label.M looks at the scientific side of hairdressing and each product works using the 4C system of Cleanse, Condition, Create and Complete. The Cleanse, Condition and Treatment Honey and Oat set, £31, comprises of the shampoo and conditioner and a treatment mask. They smell good enough to eat and hair is left feeling weightless, yet intensely nourished. Perfect for any hair care lover and packaged in a limited edition Giles Deacon box.
For all my adult life, it has been a standing joke that I am so easy to buy for at Christmas before I love ‘any old hair and makeup stuff’. It’s true, so when I choose beauty presents for others, I choose things that I would love to receive myself. Two pretty little sets for nail polish lovers have been chosen, both coming in at under £10. The Tanya Burr Nail Polish Trio Set from Fragrance Direct is a steal at just £2.99 for the three polishes. In the shades Little Duck (mint green, Penguin Chic (mink) and Peaches and Cream (peach), they promise long lasting, chip free wear. For any girl who loves the YouTube star, these would make an adorable gift. There’s quite a good selection of shade packs on Fragrance Direct as well as tons of stocking filler ideas.
I adore Liz Earle and if you read my post on Monday, you would have seen the gifts that I’ve bought already. A little stocking filler, in a Christmas worthy red shade the Knockout Glossy Nails gift box looks good enough to hang from the tree. It’s £9 for the polish in the signature Liz Earle box with blue tartan ribbon embellishment, and the polish is of exceptional quality. Super high shine, glossy red talons in an instant.
A little luxury now and I’ve chosen the next two gifts for a special friend. Not only are they luxury products inside but they are beautifully packaged and will look great displayed on the vanity. First, the Crabtree & Evelyn Luxury Botanical Hand Therapy Collection, £22, caught my after after I’d been having a chat with said special friend and her issue of dry hands. I thought this would be a perfect item as the six different scented creams can be kept to hand all day. One in the handbag, one in the kitchen, one in the car and so on. Featuring six of C&E’s best selling fragrances, the creams are all ultra moisturising and presented in a festive designed box.
The next gift was selected for a similar reason – dry lips in winter. It’s the bane of everyone life right now. How gorgeous is this L’Occitane Tinted Lip Balm Trio set, £33. I was originally drawn to it because of the keepsake tin, as everyone loves a good tin. Inside nestles a trio of lip balms which according to L’Occitane feel like a walk through a field of peonies. How pretty. A transparent balm, Rose Nude and Rose Plum, the balms are creamy in consistency yet give a burst of nourishments whilst protecting lips with an SPF25.
So, that’s me done for Christmas present buying now and I can’t wait to see everyone’s face when I give them their gifts. It’s just a shame that I’m not here for Christmas Day – but that’s another story!
