I’ve been a little bit tardy with my Birchbox subscription posts for the last two months. I always seem to be away when they get delivered and by the time I get round to photographing everything and writing it up, the newest Birchbox is out. I wish I had chance to do last months as it was a brilliant collaboration with Skinny Dip London, and I absolutely loved the box. It’s always in your mind on how they are going to make the next months box even more special and they’ve done it with the December Birchbox, or should I say Birchbag. For one month only the trusty box that we see our five beauty products arrive in, has been changed to a Christmas clutch bag, packed with party preparations and party going essentials.
As it’s December, and as looking good gets stepped up a notch or five, Birchbox have teamed up with Wahanda. In every box is a £10 voucher code for you to spend on a beauty treatment between now and January 31st 2016. I think I may treat myself and get my nails done ready for Christmas. As Wahanda covers several salons across the UK, you can choose from any treatment such as HD Brows, a facial, lash extensions or Twinkle Toes, dependent on what your local salon has to offer.
Inside this month’s Luxe Birchbox are five samples as well as a Birchbox Beauty Bonus. I’ve been really pleased with this months box especially as I’ve seen samples from my faves, and some that I’ve wanted to try a bit more of. The Ultimate Party Kit from Benefit is a Birchbox Exclusive and contain a mini They’re Real Liner and Puff Off. Perfect for the party and perfect for the morning after, this kit contains the instant cat eye and an instant de puff for after make up removal.
ModelCo has been featured in a Birchbox in the past and this lipstick in the shade Smitten is gorgeous. It’s moisturising and semi hydrating and glides across lips leaving a smooth creamy finish. The colour is also ideal for Christmas, as it’s a lovely deep red colour.
This year I haven’t treated myself to the Ciate Mini Mani calendar so I was pleased to see a mini Ciate polish in Fit for a Queen inside my Birchbox. Silver and shimmery, it will look lovely with my New Years outfit and I can’t wait til my next manicure.
A product that I haven’t tried before is the Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentrate. After watching a make up artist at a recent party apply this to a client and say she swears by it, makes me want to give it a good try as a primer. I believe it is a make up artist stable as it’s rich yet lightweight on the skin.
I’ve been really getting into the Rituals brand so I am looking forward to trying the Rituals T’ai Chi Foaming Shower Gel. I’ve used the gel in a different fragrance so the relaxing scent of white lotus and yi yi ren is much needed. It’s such a cool product and it’s fun to see the gel burst into a million bubbles on contact with water.
Finally, the Birchbox Bonus us a Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris Eau de Parfum sample. I’m glad it’s a Birchbox extra as I can’t stand perfume samples in beauty boxes. That being said, I have tried this fragrance before from a previous box and it’s lovely and has certainly tempted me to look into buying it full size.
If you like any of this months products, you can purchase the full size in the Birchbox Shop. Don’t forget to use my referral code when you join Birchbox to earn £5 worth of points to spend in the shop.
