As a big lover of Benefit They’re Real Mascara, I was so excited to hear that Benefit were launching their newest innovation, the They’re Real Push Up Liner. With the usual Benefit quirkiness, events were being held for beauty bloggers around the UK including the Criminally Easy tour bus which came to Manchester. Sadly, I didn’t get chance to visit however you can read about how fabulous it was on Lily Kitten.
Although, I didn’t get chance to visit the Criminally Easy tour bus, Benefit kindly sent me the They’re Real Push Up Liner* and They’re Real Remover* to try out alongside another They’re Real Mascara. Benefit have the best packages and I was so surprised when I opened the package and sirens started going off from the interactive leaflet inside the package. Absolutely amazing work Benefit, it certainly grabbed my attention! Packaged in the iconic black and orange, the They’re Real family looks great together and the They’re Real Push Up liner is certainly going to become a staple in my make up routine.
Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner is the first ever lash hugging gel eye liner. Made with a custom AccuFlex tip that is shaped to provide a stable and steady application, with a guard that pushes lashes out of the way in order to create a tight lined eye and a soft angled tip that just glides across the eyelid. My first application was a bit of a disaster, partly from using such a new product and mainly because I have fallen out of the liquid/gel eye liner habit that once upon a time, used to be my trademark. Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner also doesn’t need much persuasion to be removed, it did glide off with a normal face wipe without any scrubbing or rubbing. I was slightly worried at first when I saw the They’re Real Remover as I though it would be tough stuff to get off!
Once I’d mastered the application knack, I was able to do a perfect winged eye in just two strokes. I found that as the gel comes out of the nib, it is easier to start in the centre of the eyelid and work out then work back in to the inner corner to achieve the desired effect. I like quite a thick liner, and don’t often wear a thinner line however I think that it will be a doddle to get the required thickness of your line. The nib does do exactly what it says on the tin. A close line, no gaps, no dragging or pulling. My only negative is that I found it bobbled slightly when I went back over my line to make it slightly thicker. The colour is jet black, and dries in next to no time and for the entire day whilst I wore it, it didn’t crack or leave any fall out. WIth a twist lid to stop the product drying out and a wind up pen dispenser, Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner will definitely be getting involved in my daily routine.
Benefit They’re Real Remover is a waterproof eye make-up remover that comes in a creamy gel formula. Although suitable for the whole face, I have decided to save it for eye make-up only so my heavy dramatic eyes can be dissolved in a sweep. Simply massage a small amount of cream onto the eye area and without pulling, dragging or rubbing, They’re Real remover removes the toughest mascara; They’re Real Mascara, I’m looking at you! My eyes didn’t feel oily or sensitive after use so I’m more than happy.
