Call me biased because I love them dearly, but Benefit are knocking it out of the park with their new releases. News has just hit that they are launching a brand new, 36 product strong brow collection in June, which is right up my street, and I hope to have more information on that soon. The latest collection to hit the shelves, and just in time for the summer sunshine, caters for all your bronzing needs. It’s almost like some of these products were made for me! Let’s take a closer look at Benefit Dew The Hoola, the liquid sister to the Holy Grail Hoola Bronzer.
I have been using the Benefit Hoola bronzer for as long as I can remember, and I always like to have a back up or two. Last Summer, we started to sell the Do The Hoola Kit at work, so I bought one so I could keep some mini essentials in my handbag, because you just never know when you will need them. In that set was a deluxe sample sized Dew The Hoola, which was exclusive to the set before its official launch. At first, I didn’t think much of it. I mean, how could a liquid Hoola be any better than my powder Hoola? Curiosity took the better of me, and I started to include it when I was bronzing up. I was hooked. Mid March couldn’t come quick enough for the release of the full size Dew The Hoola, as I had already ran out of my sample size.
As with every Benefit product, the packaging is just beautiful. Tropical, exotic and inspired by the summer, Dew The Hoola promises to take you from pasty to tasty in seconds. It’s a soft matte bronze, so it can be doubled up as a contour by simply adding it to the bottom of the cheekbones, along the jaw and your hairline. Use it instead of a foundation for a light and easy naturally glowing look, or up the amp by using it mixed in with your moisturiser for that lit from within golden glow. As it doesn’t contain any shimmer, you can’t go over board with Dew The Hoola, but I prefer to put two light layers on for a subtle colour that works beautifully with my skin tone. One pump is enough to cover the face, and I do like to apply it with my hands as I find that the heat helps work the product in the skin, although you could use a synthetic brush for application. The gel like consistency also makes it a lot more malleable than that of a liquid or cream. I like to finish off with a dusting of Hoola Bronzer powder, to set everything in place.
With summer around the corner, Dew The Hoola is the next purchase that you need to be making for your summer make up bag. What do you think about a liquid bronzer? Have you tried it yet?
