To give a product holy grail status, it needs to knock spots off everything else you own or have tried in that category and generally be an amazing and cannot live without item. I have a funny feeling that this lesser spoke about product will soon be gaining cult status in the beauty world and I’m quite happy to say that it isn’t called amazing for no reason. I’m talking about Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer and just how wonderful it is.
I was introduced to Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer back in September last year. I spotted a stand in Sephora that was filled to the brim with these 6ml tubes of concealer in the widest range of shades imaginable. I didn’t purchase one as I hadn’t really read anything about it and didn’t realise just how much of a wonder product it is. A few minutes of research quickly brought up that Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer was a Hollywood make up artist staple item and that it was winning beauty awards left, right and centre, most recently Allure magazines Editors Choice Award. Rectifying the situation that I needed the Amazing Concealer, I soon had it in my clutches and I was so looking forward to seeing what the fuss was about.
I use concealer every time I put my make up on. As I wear a medium coverage foundation, some areas need something a bit more opaque to cover up any blemishes. Dark circles, blemishes, that pesky bit of sun damage, they all need covering up. I usually flit between a few concealers, namely Collection Lasting Performance, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and MAC Pro Longwear Concealer however they have all now been relegated to the drawer as Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer is just well, amazing.
Why is it so good? Well first of all, it’s waterproof. I need a concealer that stays on all day and doesn’t slide around my face in those hot climates that I end up in. Even the busiest and hottest of days haven’t had an adverse effect on this concealer. Very impressive. Secondly, it doesn’t settle into my fine lines. My problem areas for fine lines are under my eyes, and that’s primarily where I’ve been wearing the product. To not have to keep checking that I have cakey concealer lines is just a winner in my eyes. I believe the fact that it doesn’t settle is due to its emollient formula which does make it slightly tacky to the touch. The smallest amount is needed, and I mean small. A little goes a very long way. I find it’s easy to use an even smaller amount, blend and reapply if needed.
The amount of product that I have on my hand on this picture literally caused a concealer bomb. It was everywhere. I tried to blend it into my hand and it went halfway down my arm. It’s so concentrated that it goes on forever. I use my MAC 195 Concealer brush to apply as the pointed tip helps pick up the product and the synthetic fibres are perfect for creamy and emollient formulas.
I think there are around 20 different shades from Ivory to Warm Deep. I am wearing Medium Beige which is the ideal shade for my NC35 skin tone. As it is being used under my eyes, I am tempted to go one shade lighter for added under eye brightness. It’s £19.50 for 6ml although a 15ml tube is available. Compared to the price of the usual suspects, taking the budget Collection Concealer out of the equation, it does sit in between the MAC and NARS offerings. I think with the minuscule amount that you have to use, it’s actually really good value for money. I want to rave about Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer until the cows come home but there really isn’t much more that I can say other than just go and buy it. You’ll thank me, I promise!
