Back in the early days of my blog, I wrote a little review on OCC Lip Tar Queen however because my blog was practically brand new, it hardly got any views. Whilst I’m running the 28 Days of Lipsticks, I thought I would revisit this fabulous product and share the love.
OCC is a brand with a fabulous ethical background. All the cosmetics they make are 100% vegan and cruelty free, whilst giving incredible colours and expanding from lip products into facial cosmetics. I had my heart set on getting one of these babies, so when I touched down in America last Summer, I headed straight for Sephora and the rest is history!
OCC Lip Tar has the long lasting wear of a lipstick but applies like a gloss using the handy brush that comes with it. The consistency of the Lip Tar is almost like a gloss however it dries to a semi matte finish. The wear time is incredible, a good 6-7 hours as the intense pigments within the lip tar adhere to your lips and just don’t let go. The lip tar has a beautiful peppermint scent and feels slightly menthol like on the lips, but this also makes you feel fresh and clean, which is very rare for a lipstick to have an effect on your senses. I don’t find it drying or heavy and a dab of lip balm throughout the day keeps the colour bright and your lips moisturised.
Luckily, OCC Lip Tar can be purchased in Selfridges for £11.50. Have you tried OCC Lip Tar Queen or any other colour? What did you think? This post may contain PR samples that have been sent to me for consideration for review however all my opinions will be my own.
