28 Days of Lipstick: Day One| L’Oreal Privée Cheryl’s Nude

February is all about LIPSTICK! Hurrah! My favourite beauty product and the largest part of my collection. For every day of February, I will be aiming to post a different lipstick each day. 28 Days of Lipstick will feature the best and worst of my collection and I’ll also pop some glosses/lacquers in there to keep it fresh! I hope you enjoy it 🙂

L’Oreal are one of those brands that you are so familiar with. You use so many of their products in every day use but they kind of blend into the background with their make up range, as there are so many other products that seem to outshine them. Fact of the matter is that L’Oreal are one of my most favoured brands for many daily essentials. L’Oreal lipsticks are well pigmented, long lasting and super hydrating. My only niggle with them is the scent. It’s reminiscent of parma violets and quite old fashioned smelling, however once applied it wears off the scent is unnoticable after a small period of time.

The L’Oreal Privée Collection is a new collection of six nudes that have been custom made to suit any skin tone and create a natural nude lip. I have a lot of issues with nude lip colours, as my lips are naturally red in colour, so its hard to go lighter in colour without it looking unnatural.

I chose Cheryl’s Nude as the selection in my local store was very poor and Doutzen’s Nude was way too pale pink. I adore the colour, it is actually a perfect nude and one that I would naturally go to if I was to choose a nude. The colour is Barely Greige and its just beautiful.

The packaging is quite sophisticated and looks a little more high end than its usual packaging. These are all ticks in the boxes for Cheryl’s Nude, until I put it on. I’m so upset. It just blends into my lip colour, and looks like I have a clear balm on. I’m going to have to hunt down Eva’s Nude as I am hoping that it is a bit darker than Cheryl’s Nude.

Although the colour didn’t match up on my lips like when I swatched it on my hand, I am still rooting for the Privée collection. Once I have found my right shade I’m sure it will be a daily wear. However, Cheryl is now taking up space in my Nannas’ make up bag, so we have one happy bunny at least!

You can buy your L’Oreal Privée Collection from Boots for £8.19
