MAC Flat Out Fabulous was a new colour that launched around September last year in the much coveted Retro Matte collection, a collection that included brand new permanent colours. Yippee! I adore a matte lip, I think they look so sophisticated and glamorous and I feel slightly braver wearing a really intense vibrant matte lip than I do when it is in a glossy form.
MAC Flat Out Fabulous is described on the MAC website as a bright plum matte, and this is certainly a true reflection of the colour. It is a cool toned fuschia plum and opaque in consistency. The new retro mattes do not seem as drying as the original matte lipsticks. I have Ruby Woo and find it to drag so much, its almost impossible to wear. Flat Out Fabulous seems to have a creamier consistency without being chalky and it glides onto the lip easily with minimal pulling or dragging. It get about 6 hours of wear Flat Out Fabulous and it does leave a stain on the lips after wear.
Although MAC Flat Out Fabulous is part of the permanent line, it has been showing as out of stock on MAC website for a few weeks now, which is somewhat disappointing for a new-ish product and I hope it comes back in stock soon.
This photo isn’t of the best quality but it shows just how gorgeous Flat Out Fabulous is. Have you tried any of the Retro Mattes? What is your favourite colour out of the range?
